If you experience a flare up, Manuka Biotics provide a natural eczema treatment for fast relief. Our products are safe for continual use on babies, children and adults. We always recommend checking the ingredients list for any specific allergies.
What causes eczema flare ups?
Eczema can come and go and can move around the body. As one patch clears up, another may develop. This is the chronic nature of the disease. When the skin cycles back to inflammation, the patient is experiencing a flare-up.
Unfortunately there is no magic eczema cure so treatment aims to heal the affected skin. Avoiding triggers can help prevent flare-ups. Examples of triggers include soaps, deodorants, carpet fibres and dust mites.
Foods or food allergies do not cause eczema but certain foods may contribute to an acute flare up.
Research suggests that eczema is a precursor to allergies. Dermatologists typically advise parents of babies and children with eczema to be on the lookout for possible food allergies.

What to use for baby eczema treatment
Baby eczema flare-ups can occur even when you are diligently avoiding triggers and taking good care of your baby’s skin. Keeping skin moist with a baby eczema cream such as our light day cream or natural body lotion is your first line of defence.
A few drops of Manuka essential oil mixed with our lotion or cream can also help. We do not recommend using Manuka oil directly on your baby’s skin as the essential oil is quite strong.
